I didn't realize there is a traditional chinese restaurant in St Marks and decided to give it a try.
I have to say the food was pretty decent ( more on traditional chinese side) but I think it's a little bit over-priced. I ordered 3 dishes and came out to be almost 40$. portion is big but still to expensive to me.
This is probably your best bet for traditional chinese food in EV if you don't mind paying the $$.

I came here and got the scallion pancakes and beef tendon. The scallion pancakes were ok, but very overpriced at $5 (the price on their menu is also wrong).
The beef tendon was good and pretty spicy, but you can definitely get better in Flushing or Chinatown (though the portion was pretty big). If you're looking for real Chinese food, this is probably as close as you're going to get in the area, but you'll pay a small premium for it. If you have the time, take the trip down to Chinatown instead.
Also as a general rule of thumb at restaurants like these, the more expensive a dish, the less authentic it is. They have to keep the Chinese customer base coming back and they know we won't overpay too much for "real" Chinese food! |

I've been here three times (thrice) over the past year. I find it to be well priced, quality, and delicious. The pictures help, too.
It's a place where you can be somewhat adventurous (think Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern played down a bit). |

The ability to get this caliber of chinese food delivered to your home is Manhattan at its most magical. Like other branches of this quasi-chain, the sichuan dishes are excellent and the american-chinese favorites come with extra "authentic" flair. However, delivery guys have developed a habit of indignantly demanding a larger tip regardless of the initial amount offered (e.g. $5 on $25 bill). I'm all for supporting delivery guys but it is annoying to have to prepare for an argument everytime they ring up.
